Hydraulic hose wrap

Dura Wrap Woven Nylon Wraparound Sleeving at WireCare.com I was looking for some hose protection for my new 4n1 bucket as the hydraulic hoses are pretty exposed. I found a product called DURA-Wrap and this vendor had the best pricing I could find. Thought I would pass it on.

The normal nylon braided ones are quite a bit cheaper than that per foot, but you need to disconnect hoses to get them on.

This appears to be the least expensive wrap style . Otherwise tough to put on with connectors already on hose or you would need to go oversized to clear connectors. I wanted a tight fit so wrap style made most sense.

You can buy it by the foot from discount hydraulic hose, a TBN sponsor. Their prices are good.

I ordered some the other day for my rear remote hoses. Sized it so I can slip the hose diameter plus one fitting diameter through, and the result is about the size I wanted anyhow, to allow plenty of flex. So I think in most cases you can get away without the Velcro version. Just tape the hose ends together so that the fittings are nested and not side by side, and that makes for a smaller net size when feeding.

Go down to your local fire station or forest service and see if they have any decommissioned firehose. Cut for length. I like it because if you do blow a hose it will contain the spray and is also very tough. Just an idea.
