You can also use a piece of rubber mudflap - wrap it around the hose(s) and zip tie it in place. Sometimes you can find them laying on the side of the road - quick, easy, and FREE :)

Ken, I would guess with the miles you drive you see lot's of mud flaps on the road. FREE mud flaps! :)

Lot of great ideas suggested here to protect the hoses.

There's a plastic version of the steel type shown in the Disc HYD. I'm not sure where to get it in US, but we use it offshore and it's called spiral wrap. Really easy to work with and no hose removal.

You live in LA? Where do you get it if not in the USA? What is DISC HYD?

If you are looking for tuff and ugly.. I'm sure old fire hose fits the qualifications.

But you will have to take the hose off.. but then.. yuo will with nylon sheathing too.

I have numerous hydraulic hoses running all over my TN 70A. I would love to "protect" them from wear and tear such as rubbing against metal edges, sticks, and other stuff that wants to wear the hoses out early. Any ideas of what I can wrap around these hoses to protect them that will look good doing it? Something that will look professional, with a clean appearance. Any commercial products?

Steel spring guards and plastic spring guards are probably the best way to protect hydraulic hoses without having to remove them from your assembly. But sleeving and flat wraps are good options if you want protection and something that looks good. You can find the differences between different kinds of hydraulic hose protection here. It's a short article but explains the differences between types of hydraulic hose protection.

old inner tube or radiator hose you can pick up at auto repair garages works well.

I went to the House of Hose, Spokane, WA and they have extreme duty spiral wound nylon hose protectors. Looks a lot like the old spiral wound telephone chord running from the phone to the handset. Its kind of a PITA to "unwind" and slip over the hydraulic hoses. The good thing - once its installed you are done. I ran over a discarded one foot long chunk with my lawn mower - barely put a nick in the stuff. I used 32 feet to protect all the exposed hoses on the tractor.
