I found steel hydraulic tubing for 4500psi in about 2 seconds on there by googling it

I always bought steel at local suppliers that deal in farm or processing equipment.
Black or stainless. Usually have to buy 10’ pieces. I have been making my own steel lines for 50 years. Cheaper and faster since dealer usually has to order them.

I just straightened the rod & rebuilt this cylinder last weekend, had to replace a fitting and one of the hoses (3/8" x 48") when I put it back together because the threads stripped out when I took it apart.

Picked them up at Fleet Farm on Sunday afternoon - the fitting was $5.59, hose was $11.99.

Yup. Here's the before (pardon my messy bench):

I never tried it before, but ran out of time to get a new rod made which would be the correct solution. I used a hydraulic press. Got it straight within about 1/8" total runout, which surprised me. It's good enough for this application and should last a while.

Wow... nice! That must be a delicate operation, applying enough force in the right place to straighten the rod, without marring it to interfere with the cylinder rod seal.

The shaft already had some dings and nicks in it, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. I used aluminum plates to protect the rod in the press. Any yeah, it took a while to get it as good as it got. Then I polished the rod in the lathe to try and smooth out the pre-existing dings, nicks, and rough spots. The rod was now straight enough I could run it in the lathe without too much vibration.

It will last long enough for me to get the chance to fix it properly with a new rod, which in reality is probably going to be a few years down the road, but it's "good 'nuff fer now"

Go to a hydraulic shop or a NAPA store with a shop. They will make whatever hydraulic hoses you want with couplers for way cheaper.

Which crimper did you buy? The cheapest for proper JIC/an fittings was around $1500
