Ivan49--being new to tractors and hydraulics, the 4 main hoses from the controller to the frontend loader look bad to me. One of the hoses had already been replaced but its quick disconnect coupler is dripping fluid---about 8 drops or so during the time it takes to cut my back field. The other 3 hoses look brittle and the outside of the hoses are cracked and split on the end that screws into the hard lines on the frontend loader. In the attached picture you can see what I'm talking about. I'm guessing replacing the hoses and couplers may be expensive?

Yes you are correct to replace them as they have dry rot. Being on the hyd system any time a hose breaks something falls and someone gets a bath. Oil is bad to get off your glasses. You are right it may be expensive but your safety means more than the cost

The lowest cost hose option I have found is buying them from Agri Supply. They are so low cost I have bought one of every size and keep them on hand if needed.

Yes, Ivan49---dry rotted---that's a good description. And I certainly don't need a hydraulic fluid bath or having to deal with oil coated glasses---so replacing those hoses ASAP will be the number one priority this fall/winter.

Thanks for the tip about Agri Supply, johneic.
