I've seen several posts regarding speed of operation of top links and grapple jaws, that you may want to improve control by using 1/4" hoses, rather than larger. Can you buy a "rheostat" like in-line control that can be adjusted within a range to suit the usage, but keep larger hoses for higher flow applications. Frankly, I'm asking this question because I saw a flow control device in a catalog and it seemed like it might be useful.

There are flow diverters and flow restrictors. Flow restrictors usually have free flow in one direction and restricted flow in the other. Some are adjustable and some are fixed.

It looks like one of the valves in your link is fully adjustable and/or gives one way flow control.

The problem with the devices that restrict flow in only one direction is that you wil probably need 2 of them, one on each work port hose, to control the speed in both directions. I find it easier to use smaller diameter hoses. Usually the hoses stay with the implement cylinder so I don't really see a need for your concern regarding keeping larger hoses.
