What do you really lose(or gain) by reducing from 1/2" to 3/8" or the other way, going from 3/8" to 1/2"? My new grapple has 1/2" plumbing but I'm running 3/8" from my 3rd function. I'm planning on using a 3/8 male to a 1/2 female thru a ISO 7241B coupler.

For your grapple , you are fine. It's when you are working-using higher volumes of fluid is when the larger Ids are required. ;)
