I just changed hydraulic lines on a top link cylinder. The cylinder is connected with QDs at the tractor. The cylinder will lift an implement but immediately loses pressure (implement is lowered). Of will loft fine bit will not stay up. No visible signs of leak. Engine RPM is high enough for lifting. I assume there must be an air pocket in the cylinder?? If do, how do you bleed the line.

With the engine off...try operating the valve lever in both directions and then disconnect and re-connect the hoses...

Thanks Slash. This did the trick. For my education, the disconnect and reconnect must allow air to escape?

Honestly I'm not sure what it does but it always seems to work...Normally air will bleed out on its own through the system...even when replacing hoses etc...
