To start with, you want a 7' blade with offset and tilt capabilities and skid shoes. Hydraulic angle is a nice feature to have, no doubt about that. Many times while grading it is nice to change the angle of the blade while you are moving. You will notice with the nicer blades that there is no minimum HP rating, only max HP or max gross tractor weight.

Here are a couple that you may want to be considering. If I were you, I would be looking at The RBT3584 with skid shoes. At just over 700lbs, this would be a nice blade to have behind your 2501. And while you will not be able to use the blade to it's maximum capabilities, you most certainly could make use of all the features and it would work well for your road.

That 25hp tractor is about the same size and weight as their 39 HP machine. Like I said, he would not be able to use it to it's full capabilities, but he could sure make use of all the features if he choose to do so. If he wanted, he could get all 3 factory rear remotes, get all 3 cylinders for the blade and have himself a nice smaller grading machine.

You don't have to have a larger machine to have a nice capable piece of equipment.
