Hydralic Help

I have a Satoh 650 G tractor that has pto and front loader. I can move the 3 pt and front loader; however, I hear nocking when the loader is going up and when it gets towards the upper limits. It appears the nocking is coming from teh pump but I'm not sure. I've checked the fluid and it's full so that's not it. Could it be a bad pump? (I hope not that's close to $500) Is there something that I can do first before I order one and see it work? Thanks Jeremy

Check out the pump with a flow meter and pressure gage.

You have to know your specs.

I didn't know hydralics has filters? Not sure where that would be. I don't know alot about farm machinary; however, with these older equipment i'm finding out the hard way. As for flow meter and pressure gauge where do I get these items and how do I hook them up to check anything? What should the reading be if I get it hook up correctly? Thanks

Filters are a must in a hyd system.

A hyd pressure gage and components setup can be found at TSC.

The gage will tell you the pressure the pump is developing.

To test, either install the gage in a tee at the IN port of the first valve, or plug the gage into a hyd hose or line.

If your pump is capable of 2500 psi and you are reading something close to that, you can assume the pump is good.

You would need to know where and how much pressure should be and isolate the fault using standard trouble shooting procedures.

Your fluid should be the correct type and the levels correct.

A flow meter is not something that most people have. You could purchase one, but they are expensive.

The repair facility for your tractor should have one and will do the test for you.

It will tell you the pumps potential pressure and flow in GPM.

Well, the hydralics final just stop working all together. Now I have no hydralics not for the loader or the PTO. I was talk to check the filter; however, I can't find one on this tractor. Does anyone know where it might be located? Or does anyone know where you could find one to buy that isn't $600.
