I have a new 4520 JD my ? is this is it possible to purchase two slightly larger hyd cylinders for the front end loader to increase lifting capacity ? i dont mean 50% more im just talking maybe 15% more . this is probley a dumb ? i no but the only way to learn is ask ?

What is the "pin to pin" extended and retracted lenght, and what is the bore diameter plus rod diameter???

When we know that we can see what the cylinder market have to offer.....15% up on the capped area is not much.....is your system pressure set at max allowed yet?

15% is like increasing pressure 300psi from 2000psi to 2300psi....or from 2500 to 2875...

btw....you might also need some welding skills for the future.....I do not think JD will take care of your warranty claim on broken FEL structure

Before replacing rams, have you checked the hydraulic pressure against the OEM spec? Many tractors ship with the pressure relief valve set @ 2500 PSI when the system is rated at 2800 or 3000 PSI. That might give you the extra ummph you need.
To check it, you would get a liquid filled gauge and a quick connect and connect them in place of one of the loader lines. You then bring the engine up to 2500 or so RPMs, put the lever against the stop and see how high the pressure goes, then compare it to the rated pressure from your shop manual (or call the dealership and ask what it should be).

Bad idea...Larger cylinders will give more lift, but they will also be slower.

Check the pressure first like Aaron suggested, A gauge setup can be built for $30.

You may want to have your dealer check the system pressure. Otherwise there may be warranty issues.
