have ya'll heard or seen of New Holland's hydrogen powered tractor. it is over 100 hp and runs on hydrogen. they have two working prototypes, and they are really cool. Hardly any sound, no exhaust, pretty cool. check out the link.

I bet it is powerful , given the torque rize of an electric motor is about 220%

So how many feet will it travel on one battery charge? Maybe set the field up with cables like a city electric trolley?

Impressive Ford tractor there. Based on the size of the tractor, I'd guess that it probably could haul a non-pto driven cutter bar, rake, or hay trailer around a 5 to 10 acre field just fine. I suspect it wouldn't run too long powering a baler though. Put modern batteries in it, and replace the motor with a newer, more efficient model, and you'll probably get half again to double longer use.

What would work well converted or built as electric only would be a JD gator or a Bobcat Tool Cat; mostly because there's more room to put batteries in.
