I tried to remove this rubber plug and broke it (see pics). Is it a vent valve? Do i need to remove and replace it or rubber piece can be attached somehow?
Yes, the fill port is ahead under the pulley. I suppose that you could figure something out to keep the debris out yet allow it to vent, but you can get that as a service part.
