Well...I'm right in the middle of projected path of Francine. Got new hurricane shutters installed on my house Saturday. We should start seeing rain and wind sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

I'm about 50 miles from the coast, so tidal surge won't affect me. I'll work tomorrow morning, the take the rest of Tuesday to prepare. I don't have much to do, because I try to stay ready.

Looks like it's moving slightly east of me, like 50 miles maybe. Landfall is scheduled for around 1:00 Wednesday.

All schools are closed today and tomorrow. Doesn't look like it will be a really bad storm, but there will still be plenty of damage. Probably a Cat 1, and maybe a Cat 2.

That's another one that looks like we won't get a drop of rain from. And we need it in this area.

Curious to see if we get any rain from this storm in northern Illinois.

Stay safe down there on the coast.

We sure could use some up here too. Maybe on-off rain for a week! (y)

They are forecasting this storm to give us 3 or 4 days of much needed rain. Just got new gutters on our house. Bring on the rain!

I hope you guys that need rain get what you need. I dont really need any rain as we are about 7" above average for the year, and we've had plenty rain in the past 2 weeks.

I'm starting to get a little bit of wind from Francine with gusts up to about 20 mph now. The forecast is still just east of me about 50-75 miles, which is directly over Baton Rouge. Looks like I will be on the west side, which is usually the drier side of a storm. We may not get much, if any rain.

Per the local weather we are around 3” behind normal in August and so far very little in September. If like most years will start raining about harvest time.

We are up in Arkansas, for a class reunion and have to cross that path to get back to Florida!

Light rain and a little breeze here now. We may not get much rain at all, which is fine with me. It should make landfall around 5pm today about 80 miles east of me. Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Houma will get the worst of it. But it doesn't look like it will be nearly as bad as some other storms have been.
The local news people seem to be a little disappointed that it won't be bad here.

Here in Tyler, I'm about 90 miles West of Shreveport, and the first band of rain is about to hit here. Forecast is for half to one inch of rain today, then it clears up tomorrow.

When Beryl came through here, falling trees where the biggest issue. Seems that our trees can only take so much wind and rain, and they they fall over. I have dozens of them on the ground that I'm hoping to get to before Summer comes back, but will be lucky to get half of them cleaned up by then.

We live 110 miles from the coast. It will pass just to left of us so we going to sons house this afternoon. We live in a doublewide, son has a good house! We had good many trees down for Hurricane Ida, none close to the house, not taking the chance.

Ida was really bad. I did some work in Cut Off a few weeks ago, and they are still rebuilding from Ida.

Well....we made it with no damage at my shop. About 1/2" of rain and a little breeze.

It came onshore around 5pm yesterday about 80-90 miles east of me. Houma and New Orleans got a lot more than I got.

Lucky for everyone it was not really bad.

My rain gauge shows 1 3/8's inches in it so far. We had some pretty heavy rain in the early afternoon yesterday, then it cooled off really nice after the rain passed. This morning, it's raining again, but very light. Just enough to keep everything wet.

It stopped raining in Texarkana early this morning and has been pleasant since. Guess we should be able to travel south of it by the time we head home.
