HURRAY !!!!! Finally got one bought

Ive been deliberating and looking for a tractor for over a year now. I had wired money and arranged shipping on a 7610 4wd open cab only to get a phone call that it was reported as stolen and my money was returned. Then yesterday I called to finalize a deal on a 1990 7710 II 4wd w/ cab to have the salesman tell me the tractor had sold just 5 minutes prior. I was down and out about my bad luck. This morning the same salesman called me back to tell me the previous commitment had fallen through and I was able to get the tractor bought. Its still in Colorado but should be delivered Saturday.
Again, its a '90 model 7710 II 4wd with supposedly 1400 original hours. I spoke with the previous owner and he swore the hours were correct. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. This will be my first ever cab tractor and first ever 4wd tractor. I will have to get a loader for it soon, and I guess a large shredder before next fall. Anyway, thanks for all your suggestions that led me to this decision.

Good for you, sounds like you got yourself a decent tractor. Can't beat those hours and you will really enjoy the cab. Good Luck............

The cab may get in the way sometimes, but I really like the idea of having a cab so my kids can ride with me. Also, it will really be nice to climb in there on the 4th of july and do some shredding with that AC and Radio. I might even wear shorts and flip flops !!!!

Sounds like a winner. You will like the extra hp, longer wheelbase and of course the AC. Time to get a full set of filters, oil, hyd fluid, grease, antifreeze, ect. and get to know your new friend this weekend. Congrats it's been a long hard search for you . scrapironford

1990..that will be a super Q cab with a fancy stripey seat and digital dash......Fantastic tractor..

Can you guys recommend a good loader for that tractor. I need specific brand and model number recommendations so I can begin searching. Also, where would you mount a joystick in the cab? thanks

For a loader you might look for a Koyker, they have a good reputation around here. 1400 hours is almost broken in.

Had it delivered yesterday. Looks great. Dropped it by the NH dealership and had them go through it. Changed all fluids and filters. Tires/wheels are a bit smaller than I would like but Oh well. Now for a loader.

I'd rather have my kid safe in the cab than somewhere i can't see him...

Congrats, and I'm envious.

It's kinda hard to learn how to drive a tractor if you can't ride on it. I was picking cotton on an IH 416 2-row open cab picker before I could even reach the clutch without standing up. I was brought up on open cab tractors but my father was always watching us. Granted it takes just a split second, but it's hard to learn how to drive from a book.

Dont want to get a thread raging, and I appreciate your concern for kids and tractors, but I feel if they can ride in my truck with me going down the interstate at 70 mph they can ride in the cab tractor with me going 5 mph in the pasture.

Congratulations on the new tractor! Once you have a cab tractor with AC you will never go back to an open station machine. It's easy to get spoiled.

I agree, and what a way to teach you kids then to have them safely in the cab right beside you.
