How's everyone doing with the SNOW

/ How's everyone doing with the SNOW #621
Well after 3 feet of snow in one storm in South Central Pennsylvania I decided to buy tire chains for the rear turf tires of my B2400. I had trouble getting traction on my driveway. My driveway is on a steep incline. Once the snow started to ice up it was tough even with 4wd. I bought a set of GT-23 two link heavy duty tire chains from tire chains.com. Just got them in the mail today and boy are they ever heavy duty. I put the set in a bag and put it on my bathroom scale and they weigh 105 lbs. Now I just need another snow to try them out.
If I could make a suggestion. Using chains myself, I would recommend that you try mounting the chains before the next storm. You may have to remove a few links to get a better fit. You could have clearance issues also. I also put color zip ties on my chains. This way I know the left from the right without having to look too hard.

What is the difference between a right and left chain? The last set I had looked like a pair of twins.

For me, it had to do with the way I adjusted the chains. The inside has a tighter fit, with one link less than the outside. I had to have a tight fit due to clearance issues--and I do have 1.5" spacers as well.

In the middle of a storm right now...expecting 6-10 inches of heavy snow. It's supposed to end around 8PM so I'm figuring on just getting up early and taking care of the mess in the morning!

Seat time Saturday morning good way to start the day... temps should be little warmer.

That nasty storm just...and I mean just miss us by 15 miles. :cool2:

Yup, about 6 inches heavy wet snow here so far. Temp is still above freezing. It's been so warm here the past few days that the driveway barely has a coating on it yet there's 6 inches on the lawn. It's going to be a real mess to move once the temp drops a couple of degrees.

Has snowed all day and suppose to continue through the night. Should end up with about 14". Lots of wind so drifting will also be an issue. I already have people calling to get plowed out tomorrow. I will be starting early in the morning.

That's not a bad idea or atleast put in two to indicate left or right. I always want to put the cross link connectors and hook tensioner same direction.

Wife took this picture. For this snow, I almost wish I'd saved my 12 hp Gravely and its square chute snow blower.
