Hi everyone,

I'm Dave, very recently the proud new owner of a MF 135. It just needs a few minor things done to it and it should be ready to go to work.

This is my first venture into tractor mechanics so I hope to make use of the collective knowledge here and not come across too simple in the process!

My wife and I are building a house and this tractor is going to to be doing a bit of everything: clearing and grading, mowing, driveway maintenance, pulling logs (we have a lot of evergreens), ploughing etc.

We've got some pretty shallow hardpan so I just ordered a Piranha tooth bar for my FEL, I hear it can cut through just about anything.

I grew up in Ireland where this tractor is pretty common. Now I'm living in WA and finally found one in OR in pretty great condition so it was well worth the drive.

That's it, just wanted to say hi.

Welcome. Great machines, will last a longtime as you know. Is it diesel or gas? I assume it was restored? Was the engine rebuilt?

Thanks everyone, great to be here.

TomSeller - it's the Perkins gas engine. The guy I got it from was an elderly gentleman who has been restoring them since he retired 20 years ago.

The engine wasn't fully rebuilt, but he did give everything a real solid going over. The one thing that he needed to work on was the governor assembly which was pretty off.

I have to replace the hose from the air filter to the carb as gas has backed out of the carb and worn the rubber hose through in a spot. I don't know if there's a bigger issue here, maybe someone can chip in before I create a whole new post for it?

Apart from that, the idle is a little high and the brakes need tightened but I gather those are pretty common MF135 issues and I've got the original manual to keep me right with these service items and checks.
