Kubota BX2200
I've got an opportunity to purchase a refurbished Howard Rotavator J50 and would like to know whether folks here think my Kubota BX2200 could handle this tiller. I would be using it primarily to till a former alfalfa field to about 2" depth. Soil is a medium loam, no clay or any hardpan to break. Specs say that the J50 tiller is about 630 pounds or so and am wondering if the BX can manage this (my BX was just delivered today, so I'm not real familiar with what it's capable of handling on the PTO).

Thanks for any ideas or recommendations.

/ Howard J50 tiller Question #2
Alexander,

630lbs might be pushing things on a BX. The owner's manual recommends no more than 375lbs. The tiller I went with weighs right about 400lbs. This is my first experience with any of this equipment, so I can't really compare very well, but my impression is that I don't think I'd want anything bigger bouncing around back there. I could be very wrong, though. Somebody else on the board has a Howard on their BX, and I think it might be the same model. Did you try doing a search for "J50" or "Howard"?

Kevin
