Sounds like you're being a good neighbor but being on their property, especially if they have the financial means, as the majority said let a professional drop it.
The way you could help is maybe offer to get the best price, or once on the ground offer to whack it up for them which would save them a lot of money.
All sorts of dangerous things can happen that to me not worth it.

I talked to her and her husband will be back in a few days and take care of it. I finished cleaning out the driveway for them.
I like the rope idea, these Ash's get very brittle when dead and it looks like there is also a decent angle to drop it down slope.
