How well does grass catcher work for leaves?

/ How well does grass catcher work for leaves? #21
I have the OEM bagger for my BX2350 and it works great. When I first got it though, it clogged quite a bit. I found that I needed to increase the rpm on the tractor. I was running about 2700 and it was clogging, then I increased it to 3100 and its been working fine ever since. Once in a while a stick will get stuck in the tube, and clog it up, but that doesn't happen very often.

Ken....
Well... the rain has finally stopped long enough for me to try mowing again.

Reasonably dry grass, ~2" cut off the standing grass blade, 3000+ rpm, 30" wide cut on a 60" deck, slow walking speed.... I clog after roughly 200 ft.

I did get 1 bag load with things working as others have said. It was great. But, after I emptied, I couldn't get to that magic combination of rpms etc that seemed to work.

Based on a previous suggestion, I pulled the chute hose off of the deck boot and engaged only the rear pto. The cyclone effect off of the impeller is actually BLOWING towards the deck at pretty much every rpm I tried. Not sure what's happening here... dealer is coming to me to investigate. (they're driving 1hr to get here which I think is terrific: Norfolk Power Equip of Wrentham MA)

I'll post more info this afternoon hopefully, once we've debugged this...

Yureeka!

I NEVER considered this... just figured if it went up the chute I was good.

Cleared a crossed branch and the chute, well, sucks.

Thanks Milkman for the delivery.

Each time I empty the bags, I reach as far down the back end of the tubing as I can to make sure it's clear. Every once in a while, the tube will obstruct there...probably because I didn't stop to empty the bags soon enough...

Sully,

Did understand right that you attached you cyclone to your 3030? If so does it work well?

No...nope. Dont have or even want a MMM for my 3030. I have it installed on a 12 HP Simplicity "grass cutter".
