B7510
Hi,
new to the forum, hope this is an OK place to ask this. I'm looking to pick up a used B7510 this week end and need to trailer it ~50 mile to my house. Here is where you will get a good laugh, I want to move it in my horse trailer. The interior dimensions of my horse trailer are 6' wide, 10' long, and 7' tall with a 2500 payload. From my research without the FEL the B7510 would easily slide into the trailer.

Does this make sense? the few people I've asked think I'm crazy (not new). In the past I squeezed a 1996 Toro Workman 4200 into the trailer with ~1" to spare on all sides. Other than I'd have to convince my wife (its really her trailer) I'm think this should work just fine. That is if the specs I've seen on the B7510 are correct.

What worries me is the FEL. I'm fairly certain it will be too long with the FEL connected. How easy are they to detach? Would it be possible to raise the FEL up and lower into the back of a pickup truck, then disconnect it from the tractor?

Thanks for any opinions.
Jim M.

Can you back it in?
Close or raise the door/gate & have the loader bucket sticking out over the gate/door?

Take the bucket off and put it in the back of the truck might get you squeezed in.

I've hauled tractors and bushhogs in my horse trailer. Depending on what type of rear doors you have you might be able to let the FEL hang out the back. I have a ramp, the top doors are removeable, that allows the FEL to hang out the back. If you have swinging doors you might look at how easy they are to take off the hinges. One thing that is a problem is holding the tractor down properly so it doesn't bounce around. My trailer doesn't have any tie downs on the floor, I had to make a big kludge to strap mine down properly. Horse trailers are pretty bouncy, if you don't tie it down it will move around when you hit a bump and start doing damage when it comes down and scrapes a wall, or hops forward when you stop. Have the wife ride in the back with a cell phone, she can call you if things start to go bad :)

Not sure how close you are to civilization, you might look at renting a flatbed trailer with a set of ramps. It's a lot easier to hold it down with the proper chains or straps.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Bring a few wrenches (I think 10mm) and a light hammer / punch and pop the four pins out that hold the bucket on. You should be able to get the bucket into the back of the truck by hand if you need to.

The loader comes off easy. If you had a couple guys to help you, you could heave it up into the back of a pickup, but i dont recommend that route! Best bet is to remove the bucket. Weight is not an issue, that tractor only weighs 1500 lbs. The tough part is going to be securing the machine for the road.
