3-Point Hitch how to remove side links to add hydraulic tilt.

I'm setting up my top and tilt system on a l 3940 and can't figure out how to remove the side links. I undo the two nuts on the top connector but can't pull the threaded pin out of the link as it won't tap out and it won't back out with a wrench. Can anyone help? thanks
