How To Keep A MT357 PTO Going

My question may sound stupid, but I cab not find the answer in the owners manual. I want to use a wood-splitter that is using the pto of the tractor to power the hydraulic pump of the splitter. How do I do this, the tractor shuts off if I get off the seat.

The tractor has the 3-speed Hydro transmission.

Do you have the Parking brake on and the gear selector in "N"? That should allow it to work.

If, yes then the forward/reverse pedals may need the "neutral" position adjusted, it thinks it's not in neutral so when you get out of the seat it kills the motor for safety purposes.

You could jump the seat switch.
Jumping the seat switch and disabling the alarm under the dash was one of the first things I did after receiving the tractor.

Having safety features enabled is important, but also hinder work. For me, I disabled the seat switch because sometimes I want to sit up, almost stand, to see the forks on the end of my FEL. When I would do that, the tractor would die. The alarm was simply too loud, and would go off as soon as I stopped without the parking brake set. It was just annoying.

You do you, but for me, jumping that seat switch has solved several problems.
