How to Install a 60g Compressor?

   / How to Install a 60g Compressor? #22
Many thanks for all the ideas. Really did not want to put holes in the floor because I it's ugly and I may want to move the compressor to a different spot in the future. I think I'll just leave it on the pallet its shipped with and perhaps one of those large hard rubber mats from TSC under the pallet. Also, thinking I may (depending on what the shipping pallet looks like) build a better wooden base or set more blocking in the shipping pallet. And of course, make a more accessible drain. thanks again for all of the ideas...

Both mine (bought 10 yrs apart) came on substantial Oak pallets, they are 80 gal, but doubt if the pallets are much different.

I'd read the owners manual.
You may find that leaving it on the pallet without bolting it down will void your warranty.

And how would that be determined unless
(1) the owner was foolish enough to admit it or
(2) there was an onsite visit by the manufacturer's warranty dept staff.

Neither is likely, especially #2.

If the damage was caused by the unit toppling I think the case could be made.

If it fell over under any circumstances it would not be covered under any warranty I would expect to have. No more than if a building collapsed on it while it was firmly anchored to the floor. Warranty considerations as related to anchoring is a non-issue in my estimation.

i have one and its bolted to the floor on isolation pads. it took all of 20 minutes and a rotohammer to secure it, so why not. if i ever have to replace it i can sawzall off the lugs and do it over again.

I have a 60gallon horizontal mounted on skids... not much chance of toppling over.

The 60 and 80 gallon verticals I have installed at work are all seismically anchored... I just can't risk not doing it right in a hospital environment. I also live in a seismically active area along the Hayward fault so secure installations are standard procedure.

So you condone fraudulent claims?

Mine is sitting on vibration pads and has not moved. i used flex conduit for eletrical and hydraulic hose to run air to the wall where the regulator is located. It has worked fine.

Ditto X 2 (along with RickB).......
