Loader How to increase loader lift capacity

/ How to increase loader lift capacity #32
You should know the pumps max pressure in order to set the relief pressure. About 50 to 100 psi below the pumps max pressure.

Before the loader was installed, the hyd block relief pressure was set for the 3pt, and you also have the 3pt relief valve pressure.

Tractor hyd relief pressure may be higher then implement relief pressure.

The lowest relief pressure in the first valve will set the pressure for the rest of the system.

For instance the tractor relief could have been set to 2500 psi, but now you have installed a loader with a relief valve setting of 2000 psi.

That means that the new tractor relief is 2000 psi.

The loader valve is the relief for the whole system. There may be a relief for the 3pt but it will be set at about 3100psi.

If your 3pt valve relief is set to 3100 psi, and the loader valve is set to a lower relief pressure, then the loader valve relief will set system pressure.

Should set both the same.

Should set both the same.

The 3pt relief is factory set and non adjustable. It is more of an emergency relief for the 3 pt in case it is over stressed with shock loads. ie; bouncing over rough ground.

maximus1277,

I believe the B2320 has shims to adjust the 3pt.

If you have a loader installed, set both reliefs the same.

Your loader valve might require turning a screw or selecting the correct shim to set the pressure.

Ok... Finally got to a pressure test. 2000 psi at red line... Tested at the loader. Still would like to bump up the pressure just a bit. Where exactly is the pressure relief valve on the b2320?

You will most likely be fine you up to 2100-2200, but I wouldnt over do it.

Others will have to chime in on the location. But FWIW, on my L3400, it is on the block where the hydraulic filter is under the right foot-board.

maximus1277,

Show us a picture of your loader valve.

On most loader valves, the relief valve is close to the input hose.

Some reliefs are on the hyd block.

IF you have remotes, that valve will have a relief valve.

I found it... the valve is tucked in on the right side of the transmission housing... I will swap one shim and recheck the pressure... Thanks for all the help.
