I've heard of people doing that but it always seemed like a good way to get a tractor on your head. I have used the trick of putting a chain through the tire and backing up, which is a slightly safer way to do it.

I remember dad chaining logs to the wheels of his F-20. He layed logs on ground in front of tires. He ran ropes through pulleys to the clutch and brakes then drove it like a mule. It was spooky when the old tractor reared up like a horse but it got the job done. I saw the hand crank get away from him a couple times and be slung out.

He did tip the tractor over on his head.
He would have been ok with shorter logs
that would only extend about a foot beyond
the tire I have seen this way done with shorter
ones

Just drive the tractor backwards and it can’t flip.

Should have used the clutch when it started to rise.

I didn't realize it was a video, using a phone for this is less than optimal.
