The only problem with hogs is that it will leave the ground in such bad shape that it will knock your fillings out if you ride over it. They are very destructive. Skunks or moles might work though.:)
I'll let you corral the skunks!

As for Jefferson Davis; Even if I had a stack of bills with his picture, I'd still be broke. Probably the best President was Madison... he graced the face of a $5000 bill. (Grant, from my previous post, was on the $500.)

Back to the OP's question; despite our inevitable bickering you've gotten some good answers, and I hope that you find a suitable way to achieve your goal.

I'm saving the Ben Franklins...I have only one, though...and he was never a president?

I was just curious. As I said, maybe he couldn't get back to it with tractor. I joined this site, cause I bought a tractor. Food plots were on my agenda. But my plot was already in and haven't gone bigger.

I've done some tilling with the ride on mower, wasn't part of the plan at the time and didn't do the blades a lot of good.
Chicken runs on wheels will clear the ground fairly quickly but doesn't help with tilling.
We planted one acre of silverbeet to give us horse feed one year, they didn't like it and refused to eat it, I won't eat it either, ploughed it back in.
Just had a look at rural living, current subjects are framing, bear hunting, guns, skunks et al.

I have a little tiller attachment that goes on my split shaft weedwacker. Among other things I've used it for soil prepping to plant a little ginseng. It doesn't go deeply or tear up stumps and roots; but for working soil to plant a small food plot it would be adequate. I bought the separate pieces on EBay and have about $85.00 tied up in the entire setup.

I think trying to establish a food plot on poorly prepared soil, without enough equipment to make it lush, is really a waste of time. Even if you get something to grow, like clover, I doubt it will really affect or improve your herd, your hunting success, or deer sightings. Save your money and spend time elsewhere, like stand development.

I get what you are saying. I got clover. Some people swear by it. I am not sure. Not hurting. There comes a point when you got enough stands. Sure there is always something else to play with. But this is just playing around too. Learning, just spending time in the woods.

When all i had was a troybuilt tiller, i broke new ground with it. It's just slower..

95XL, if there's a will, there's a way. good on you... Curious, what size are your food plots?

Also want to consider how deep you want to rip ground up, if the soil is not deep. Mine is in the woods, and soil is shallow. I didn't do round up, but it is really common to do that.

I think used the rippers on my boxblade. Also used tiller on back of UTV. With the UTV I had issues when ground was wet To dry and would be a problem to, if not enough power.

Also need to decide what works in your soil. The food plot people, push hard for lime first.
