How to Bypass the Seat Switch TC34

There are occasions when I need to stand up on my tractor without the engine stopping. Does anyone know how to defeat the seat switch. As you can see there are four pins. My assumption is to put jumper wires in the slots. The question is which ones to jump.

Check your owners manual again. Most all tractors have a prescribed method of doing what you want. Without jumpers.

Thanks, I will recheck that. My recollection is the manual states if you put the tractor in neutral and set the parking brake, the seat switch is defeated, and indeed that works. I would like to stand up while the tractor is in gear, being cognizant of the safety issues there. The other problem with the seat switch is if I shift my weight even the slightest amount, the engine cuts out. It is a poorly engineered feature. I confess to being new to all of this however. I just got the tractor.

I've got a NH 3040, a newer version of the TC40, and these pictures show what I did about 10 years ago. I have had no problems with this setup.

Unfortunately there is no easily accessible down button, but good thought.

I REALLY don't understand why some mfg make it so darn difficult. I have a safety alert on my M6040. Stand up or get off the tractor. An alarm beeps for about ten seconds and then quits. Nothing stops - tractor keep running and going. No need to put anything in neutral or set the park brake.
