At that rate it should last a life time, enjoy and don't forget to grease her.

I agree. Maintain her and you will most likely never have a serious problem for thousands of hours.

Take good care of it and it will last longer than you. Abuse and lack of maintenance are what shortens the life of equipment like this. Also, a skillful user knows how to use his equipment effectively and safely without destroying it. That's a beautiful machine you have. Take the time to build your own experience and skills with it.

Ditto. It will last a lifetime if maintained.

Keep the loader and hoe greased every 10 hours. Especially the hoe.

What they said, it's a good tractor and will outlive you if properly maintained and maintenance is pretty easy on them, we do all of our own except for the valve adjustment. There are no known problems or weaknesses on these machines. Just be sure to keep your screens cleaned, I use compressed air and a long wand.

A "Grand L" series tractor is The One everyone wants, new, used, or tired.

Remember maintenance is a broad and vague topic. At some point you will need to start changing hoses as they wear out, tires, clutch, blah blah blah. These are normal wear parts you would find on a car or truck. But things like tires and hoses are much more expensive than a car. Also, these machines do live outdoors a lot. Electronic issues with the newer tractors has yet to be fully defined (not many tractors with 30 years on them that are electronically controlled).

But, a diesel engine should have a good 4 to 7000 hour lifespan. IMO the problem child is going to be the electronics with the newer tractors.

cant speak for your model but my L2800 is one tough ase machine, I use it hard, digging, clearing my land, mowing, taking out small trees, driveways, all kinds of things. Have 400 hours on it now and its as tight and new feeling as the day i bought it new. It amazes me how such a small tractor can do the work i ask of it. I keep it well greased, fluids changed as the manual says and keep in in my shop when not in use.

Yeah I am jealous... just a little BX for me but would love a cab and a little more power but I have to say, even the little BX can do a bunch with some experience. I have always believed in putting in a little love and maintenance in your mechanical toys and they will last forever. I learned long ago that neglect is the culprit most of the time.

Put it this way, it will last you a lot longer than it will take you to sell it and get your second tractor, no matter how long that is :)

That's the beauty of tractors, some people cringe at the cost of our tractors, the same people that spend twice as much on nice cars, trucks, or boats that are worth half what our tractors are 5 years down the road.
