How much land do you have? Who has the most on here?

When I bought my first farm in 1973, my goal was to buy enough land so that my family could live off what it produced and have a little extra crops or livestock to sell to pay the basic bills.
I have been told hundreds of times that the only people that did not have it too bad during the depression were the farmers. They always had plenty to eat and shared with the neighbors and needed very little money to get by. I can bait a trot line or twig line and skin a rabbit or catfish and firmly believe that a "country boy can survive" :thumbsup: Ken Sweet

at this time the largest piece of land i own is 2 acre's, i hope to have it sold in the next year or so and my wife and i will be looking for 30-50 acres on a river or large creek.

I live on just 2 acres but, the beauty in these 2 acres is that only 2 or 3 cars pass by, on average, each hour.

Very peaceful and quiet where I live and I enjoy it as much as the birds do.:thumbsup:

Not to worry. The big places have the area, but they just dont have the volume.

Not always. Taxes on my 160 acres in the Ozarks are only $200 a year but taxes on my 16 acres in Louisiana are over $1200 a year. :confused2:

Starting with 16 acres.. wish I had the 3 or 4 of the adjoining fields that were part of the original property years ago. The fields aren't even all that great for farming, hilly with a creek running through them, closer to the road though.

Taxes on house on one acre are under $600.
Taxes on 20 acres is under $200.
