When I bought my first farm in 1973, my goal was to buy enough land so that my family could live off what it produced and have a little extra crops or livestock to sell to pay the basic bills.
I have been told hundreds of times that the only people that did not have it too bad during the depression were the farmers. They always had plenty to eat and shared with the neighbors and needed very little money to get by. I can bait a trot line or twig line and skin a rabbit or catfish and firmly believe that a "country boy can survive" Ken Sweet
