More HP is always better, question is how much can you afford?

Me personally, and this is just my opinion. I would look at what I was going to be doing. For instance, if your running a hay operation. Know what your equipment is rated at and try to figure 10 to 15 more hp than what the minimum requirement. You want to have alittle hp to spare for various reasons. But at the same time too much overkill in hp isn't going to be profitable, because you have to consider fuel cost and maintence upkeep. A bigger tractor cost more to operate than a smaller tractor.
Weight is also another issue to consider. 95hp on a 7500lb tractor might do alright for you baleing hay. But if your planning on pulling a 4 bottom 18in plow then the hp would be fine, but you will want more weight. Me personally I like 95-100 pto hp on a tractor that weighs atleast 10,000lbs. It works as a good multi purpose tractor for me. Others people may feel differently. This is just my opinion.

If it's powered by a engine, there are three things that you can't have too much of; you can't have too much brakes, too big of an engine and too much horsepower.
