I would like to refrain from the general bashing of tier 4 and so on just facts. Stick to personal experiences and not what happened to your neighbors uncles tractor. I want to specifically know how many hours on your tier 4 tractor and what issues have you had how many regens how many hrs between ect.

So far on my MX4800 I've had two regens in 55 hrs first at about 25 hrs and second at 52 hrs other than that no issues so far.

l3301 60 something hours 2 regens no issues
at work same tractor 95 hours 3 regens no issues
good tractors and regen less with higher rpms
mine at home had first at 45 hrs

I believe Tier IV engines are very similar in regards to the emissions procedures they go thru. I also believe each operator's habits will vary the results.

I operate a JD Road Grader that's Interim Tier IV. If I work it at low rpms a lot it will regen more often. If I run it with a hard load or high rpm it regens less. I've also discovered that when regen starts if I increase the rpms and if possible the load, the regen time is shorter and I notice no power loss. If I'm not working it hard enough to increase exhaust temps to the desired degree the computer will detune the engine to create that heat, instant power loss.

I have no fear of Tier IV at all. I understand it's more complicated. But so is computer controlled fuel timing, etc. It's the World we live in. The Grader I run has 1300 hrs on it and you can wipe your hand inside the exhaust pipe and get no soot. You will barely see a grey color distortion on your fingertips. Something is working. :)

LS XR3037HC, 3 cyl. turbo Shibaura, 36HP, 96 hours, roughly 5 hours between regen cycles according to the manual. I haven't bothered to count them since it does it every 5 hours or so but mathematically its regenerated 19 times so far. I see the dash regen lights come on and just keep working. No issues so far.

That's different. I've not heard of regen cycles that frequent before.

I think all the LS XR3000-4000 series with the Shibaura regen at 5 hours. The new LS XR3100-4100 series with the LS motor regen at 50 hours.

Thanks for the knowledge. I'd never heard of that frequency. I guess if it doesn't have an impact on performance it shouldn't matter.

The way I understand it the DPF has to create some serious heat to dissipate the collected material. Would frequent regens shorten the life of the DPF??

Last regen I was pulling my 6' harrow buried to the axles and I couldn't tell the difference. Lasted about 15 mins under heavy load at 2k rpm.
