How Many Hours on Your Kioti?

That's the rub with a product that is less expensive but claims to be as good as a more traditional name brand. You never know the results until a few thousand hours have been realized. That is when the true cost of ownership can be calculated. AND, then there is always the issue of trade in value.

I am not convinced that off brand products are a good long term value. Especially, given the disproprortionately high cost, of parts and service compared to original purchase price. Having said that, it gives me immense satisfaction, that these brands must most surely put a burr under the saddle of the likes of JD.

I'm sure traditional brands do not like seeing us rollin' dirty doin' the gangsta lean.

It's a 2009. And it would die within 1-2 seconds of firing up. So I had tested the ignition switch, took out the fuel and air filters and tested for fuel and air blockages, and tested all the relays. Then today I came across a similar problem in this forum and it mentioned the stop solenoid which you mentioned. So I thought I'd give it one more look tonight and traced the wiring from the solenoid back to the battery tonight and sure enough, I found a damaged wire (from a mouse I guess?) that went to the solenoid. So I patched the wire and it fired right up! I couldn't believe it was that quick and easy to fix.

With all that said, I guess I'll keep my tractor for now but I had to already replace my ignition switch too so I don't have much confidence in this tractor. Every year something (big or small) has gone wrong with it (maybe that's normal with a tractor?). So I'm hoping this year I'll get lucky and this will be my only problem!

It's your tractor, BUT an ignition switch replacement and a possibly rodent damaged wire do NOT, IMHO qualify as unusual for a tractor. AND, whatever you might trade it for will have it's own set of problems. If it were me I'd stick with what you have and give it a real chance and time to prove it's worthiness to you. It's clearly no where near lemon status.
Keep us posted as to any other issues; the Kioti Team has seen most everything that these tractors can serve up, and seldom finds anything that can't be solved. Good luck and happy tractoring.

Nice picture Eric! Pictures always GOOD!

Manufacturers should simply be held more accountable! And yes, some people can wreck anything they touch. A friend, HIGHLY talented welder and fix it man had dealt with failed Kioti front axles and has NOTHING good to say about them. But were these abused as in, poor maintenance or heavy loader work without counterbalance? Who knows.

And in a sense, that is the mark of quality. Being able to abuse something
(like the old Timex watch commercials) and it keeps on ticking!

Like I said. Until thousands of hours of hours and millions collectively have accumulated, the fans can't claim victory and the nay says can't either!

Hogwash, IMO. Kioti is NOT by any means an off brand. It's number two in Canada and #3 in the US. And even if it weren't the preceding numbers, it is still a S. Korean brand from Daedong heavy industries. There is no stopping these tractors impact now and going forward. They are not in competition with Deere or any of the large AG 100+ HP tractor brands; it's not their market. Compact tractors and sub compact is their market, and once they get more dealers throughout the US, and consequent exposure from same, they will have a strong foothold in their current and future market share.

There are problems in every brand and Kioti isn't immune to having an issue here and there. They are quality machines, but need the regular maintenance and occasional fix, just like every other brand.

Like I said, pro or nay, you can get on your soap box all you want. In the end, the experience and true cost of ownership will tell the tale, ONLY after millions of collective accumulatd hours!

Who are you ranting to?:confused3: Who's on a soapbox?:confused2: One mr. fixit is your claim to knowing about Kioti tractors/their axles? You even state, possible causes were abuse, no ballast/whatever. What models, what years? Any actual data, or a beer buddy's tales?
Millions of hours, eh? True cost of ownership varies by numerous factors, few of which you're cited.

I'm willing to bet they've alraedy reached that goal. IIRC, kioti is #2 in the world for 25-100 HP tractors. kubota is #1 and not by much.

When I read through Daedong's 10K last year, they were clear that they hoped to make a land grab insofar as market share in the CUT space.
