Yep... I'm grateful to be born in a backwards part of a backwards country sometimes.. home defense here involves locking a door if you're away for more than 2 days.

Just for curiosity we tried to find the house keys couple months ago. No idea where they went.

I guess a lock only keeps out the honest anyway. I'm having a seat watching the lambs graze.. got a bit of a sweat with all the walking, I'm chipping thistles and it's 20°C.. what's that 70°F or so?

Most of the nuts I've seen on TV probably couldn't hit a bull in the a s s with a bull fiddle.

We got up to a blistering 30F today. Sunny, dry air, no wind. Wasn't too bad out. Hafta look hard to find any frost in the ground. Supposed to be warmer over the next week or so. We are on the downhill side of this Winter. Next week I'm going to start splitting up some wood and restocking the wood shed for next year. Like to end winter with it full if I can. I have a huge pile of blocked wood.

I am going to attempt to construct some big firewood pallets, like I've seen on here, and get cracking on firewood over the next while. I like that idea, fill the pallets and stack them up, rather than having one monster pile by the house.
65° today, down to 60 overnight, and 75° forecast tomorrow here. Just cozy and overcast with a light breeze from the west. Just had a fire call but the tanker was crewed so I left them to it. Volunteer fire service here. Town full of tourists and guess who roars up to the station in a tractor?
