My routine hasn't changed much as I work in the pharmaceutical industry and we are considered "essential" workers. Still going back and forth to work every day but not much anywhere else. I recently learned that my 59 year old brother has ALS and we were planning on visiting him for a few days the first week of April but not anymore due to his compromised health and travel restrictions.

Work certainly has changed as the social distancing thing has taken effect, incessant handwashing, sanitant use, PPE use, etc. has made things sort of wacky. Many people are not in the plant anymore as they are in positions to telecommute. It's kind of hard to take care of 3 boilers and repair packaging equipment from home.

I'm thankful for my health and the health of my family, thankful to still be working and getting paid, and for many, many other things too numerous to list.

We're considered essential services so as of now I am still working.
I planned to register my truck today, which has been parked since the last day of deer season.(Nov. 30)
I never gave it a thought that the town office would be closed. I even picked up some cash for the purpose and washed it in bleach.
If that's the worst thing which happens to me because of the virus I will consider myself lucky.

If it can't be done online it can't be done at the DMV as all field offices closed...

Real ID deadline also extended.

Reporting said DMV will waive some penalties not health safety related in CA...

I pulled out my credit card the other day which I keep cash folded around a few cards and DL, CHL, etc. My son asked me if that money had been sterilized. I told him it had been in my pocket so long any germs had died of old age a long time ago.

My life has been completely disrupted. I’m a dentist, for 40 years, but was still working and a few years from retirement. I have 5 long time employees. My office is completely shut down. I’m not seeing any patients (none want to come in) and we have been told to only treat serious emergencies which is a very small percentage of my revenue. So basically, as a small business owner, I have zero income. And who knows for how long? I thought I was prepared for everything with disability insurance etc. But this I never saw coming. I have tremendous expenses, especially if I choose to pay my employees who are sitting at home. The government programs of relief are a nightmare to navigate. The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) just passed in the CARES Act provides loans through the Small Business Association thru local lending institutions, but I’ve spent all day with every bank here and bottom line is no bank can provide loans at this point, or even have a clue as to how to apply for PPP. And imagine when a million business owners try to get loans through this program to help cover expenses and continue paying their employees. So I’m in a nightmare situation. I really don’t know what to do. I can’t work and see no end in sight.

Few people are sick here. I understand that people are dying elsewhere. But shutting down this huge economic engine that is our country is going to destroy many lives beyond those unfortunate ones who contract the virus.

I’ll wager the suicidal total will surpass the Corona death total if this continues.

Those of you who are unaffected, be thankful. There are a great many who will never recover.

Some of the rentals I manage are owned by seniors in retirement or assisted living... they depend on the income to pay their rent.

Over half the tenants have called to say they have no money for rent....

HCJ tractor and Ultarunner, I know exactly where your coming from.
Thirty years ago before I started my building/remodeling business I owned and ran a retail furniture store with 25 employees. I can only imagine the stresses and heartbreak business owners are dealing with today.
Given the state of the country and world today, I thank God i’m As old as I am and what ever time I have left I can spend with my wife of 53 years, children, grand children, pets, and farmstead established 49 years ago.

The mitigating factor is so many in the same situation will drive solutions/accomodations.

Things got a little different today at the end of my shift. Corporate issued a new global rule that we have to take our temperature before reporting to work and after arriving home at the end of the day. The rule applies to all sites worldwide.
