How hot is it?

The high in Phoenix AZ today 7/14/23 will be 114º with an over night low of 90º.
About the same as Death Valley CA = 119º with an overnight low of 83º
Better sleeping weather in Death Valley... if you live through the day.

Here in southern CA we are in for our first week of 100 degree days (102-104)
Still getting down to 60s and 70s at night though.

I really can not imagine that kind of heat ! When it gets up to 90 here, that is really high !
I tend to not do much work after 85, and even then, you have to drink copious amounts of water to stay hydrated ! Best of luck with those temperatures !

Oh almost forgot, 76 with scattered thunderstorms and plenty of humidity 77 percent !

A little cooler today - 90F @ 3pm - than yesterday. Looks like the entire USA is suffering from heat. Everywhere except us - up here in the Northern PNW.

Our saving grace - very low humidity. It VERY seldom gets up to 40 to 45%. I once saw it peak at 52%.

6pm here and the humidity is still - 12%.

Our dewpoints have been in the upper 70's lately. Temps in the upper 90's and heat index above 100 by 9am.

June was the hottest June ever recorded and it looks like July will be the same.

This weather is taking a toll on me. I've lived in south Louisiana and worked outdoors all of my life, but now at 63, I can't take this heat any more.

I'm ready for football/hunting season...

All I know is my renters just got a whopper electric bill. My wife pays the electric bills for our renters and then they pay her, monthly. The one west of us just got tagged for 275 bucks, the one on the east of us was 250. Ours was 150 bucks. You gotta pay to play today...

Where we live for now in the city it is 94 at 10:30pm. 42% humidity.

Where we will soon live 150 miles east is 84 degrees and 85% humidity.

This time of year I miss the dry heat of Vegas.

Your electric bill and mine are pretty similar. The AC doesn't kick on until it's about 90. Tomorrow will hit 100, so the AC will get a workout. Daytime humidity is about 15%, so it cools off fast at night. I'm about to set a box fan in the window and go to bed, then we'll close the windows at dawn.

We don’t have AC in our house. On a typical summer, the high temperatures are in June (90 degrees) then we cool down to the low 80s in July/August when the rainy monsoon season kicks in. This year the rains are late and we are in the mid 90s and only cooling to 70 at night. I’m about ready to get a bid on AC installation. Our electric bill is always higher in early summer even without AC, because I’m running the well pump more for watering things. It drops once we start getting rains and can stop the outdoor watering.
