I have a 15 year old LG 36 hp 4WD loader tractor with < 100 hours on it.

How hard would it be to convert the loader to a SSQA?

Is this kind of conversion common and cost efficient?

What are your welding/fabrication resources?
Many threads on here of conversions, seems very doable. Only cost "efficient" if you swap FEL attachments.

With tractor use at <7 engine hours per year, why bother?

It will take more than seven hours to assemble material and make the change ~~~~~then you need to convert the FEL attachments you have.

I did do the adapter conversion in CAD before I cut any steel,, that helped,,,

It will take more than seven hours to assemble material and make the change ~~~~~then you need to convert the FEL attachments you have.

I moved to a different house and now have use for a tractor.

I learned 3D solid modeling on CADkey, and still use it for stuff like this.

I am not familiar with the LG tractors, so many after market companies make adapters to SSQA for many manufacturers, they are not horribly expensive I would try to find one for yours OR try to modify one since it will likely be close to your machine in some regard.

I made a SSQA from scratch for my B21. Because there were no commercial options. In looking for commercial options, there are 4 main things to consider. First is loader pin size, the QA has to match what you have. Second is distance between the two loader pins. QA has to match or be very close. If not, curl and dump will be different and maybe unworkable. Third is width. Needs to be close. You can use washers or spacers to make up the difference. The fourth is rollback angle. You need a QA that will allow required rollback for bucket, or forks, as well as required dump angle.

Converting is not difficult. Titan is the least expensive but the existing brackets just be cut free of an existing bucket.

Hayspear, Washburn offers a conversion that includes adjustable brackets, simplified conversion. See screenshot.


Tomahawk offers the least expensive adapters for the implements (adapter plates)

My 1620 Has respectable lift capacity, has a koyker loader, switch between bucket and forks regularly. Guessing capacity at lift pins is about 1000 lbs.

her is how i built mine on my homemade tractor,now i can build allot of attachments,is it worth it,yes so much faster to change out attachments, now in the process of building a ripper tooth,
