Tomatoe Plants not looking good. Night temps 9c and daytime 20c.

If you were to measure the temp in "F" instead of "C".. the tomatoes will do MUCH better,,
Today,, our temp is 80F,, that is MUCH better than 26C,,, heck, WAY over double,,,

Just spoke with my Mom. A friend of hers has had a garden for forty years and this is the first time her garden is dying too.

Chem Trails! What else could it be?:confused3:

I'm not sure if our local BELL twr has 5G yet. That would fry the little suckers in a hurry!

Tomato Plants not looking good. Night temps 9c and daytime 20c.

I don't put tomato plants out until late June/early July. I've got a cheap-o 5x5 greenhouse I'll keep them in until then. Peppers stay in the greenhouse all summer.
Just doesn't get warm enough here.

Curiously, does anyone else have problems with crows eating the corn? They don't eat the seeds, they'll wait until the seeds just sprout then eat them. I'll cut out the bottom of fountain drink cups and put them over each seedling until it gets 2-3" high, that's the only thing I've found that deters the crows.
It's not like we have lots of crows...just one family from what I can see, but boy they sure like corn sprouts!

We passed thru your area last week on our way to my stepson's. Pretty country!

Same here,, one or two crows,, the corn plants are pulled up, the little green growing stem is nipped of, and laying there,, the kernel is GONE !!

We found a pretty good solution,,
aluminum hanging from thin twine.,,

About 4 pieces for a 15X35 patch of corn,, no more crows.

We started with simply aluminum foil,, that did not last,,, but, a 9X13 disposable aluminum cake pan cut into 4 pieces,, does great.

The corner of the pan really dances to the slightest breeze. suspend the pan corner on about 6" of thin twine.

I even have a nut tied to the twine on a couple,, the nut will tap the pan,, crows are gone!!
They hate the reflection as the pan twists in the breeze.
They think it is someone looking at them.

We have a lot of ghetto chickens here, but so far they haven't learned about the corn pulling trick. I don't put out that much corn so I start them in egg flats and transplant when the garden gets tilled. They are usually about 2-3" high by that time.

I wonder if that would work down here for flies. I have seen some folks hang a bag of water maybe with coins in it around a shed. Or two liter soda bottles with a ribbon of foil in it and filled with water. First time I saw it was when an older fella was cooking and selling bbq here in town. All he had was his pit and a picnic table. He had the soda bottle with foil. After looking around I realized there were no flies.

Squirrels will do the same thing as crows to corn sprouts...I plant coated seeds and they are not bothered until the seed germinates and the kernel is cracked open and the squirrels can smell it after the coating is broken...

I start them inside in 1" cell packs, then transplant when they are about 5-6" tall and beyond the point where crows will bother them. This year it's also giving the seedlings a head start as the ground is still too cold to plant.
Other things the crows will do is pull up my onion sets, apparently thinking they're corn; and go into the henhouse to steal the eggs.

I doubt that it's chem trails, as those control your mind and you don't even know that they're affecting you. I believe that it has something to do with our exploration on Mars. I have no evidence to back up my claim; but nobody has suggested it yet and I want to be the first to start the lies- ER, bust the story wide open.

You should start a thread and see if it can compete with the pallet thread.

Tomatoe Plants not looking good. Night temps 9c and daytime 20c.

If your nighttime temps come up that will help. Our daytime is about the same as yours and mine are growing. Not a lot but there are some tomatoes that have formed. Tomatoes need not to hot but not too cold temps. 65-70 F./18-21 C. during day, at least 55 F./13 C. at night are ideal to set fruit. They also need a fair amount of water, but not soggy soil. And no water on the plant. Any other things you want to know not to do? :D

Pennies in water in a small ziplock works for flies around here. Apparently their vision is totally messed up and they stay clear.

I planted about 3 rows of corn once and about the time I got to the end of the last row I turned around and my dog had been following me eating the corn kernels. She had a hard time pooping after that.

Not that this will keep your dog from getting constipated, but we have found for a small garden, it is wise to plant the corn is a squarish pattern for best pollination vs. a couple or so longer rows.

Until the soil temps get up they aren't going to do much. Tomatoes like soils of 80'F or warmer, and until this week we haven't had the weather needed to heat things up. My peas went into the ground on May 8; yet they are only 3 inches tall. My corn that I planted 2 weeks ago is taller, because it's in cell packs (in the greenhouse) and the soil has had a chance to warm. IT is farther north than I am so I doubt that it's warmer there.

Or perhaps he's right, and chem trails really are causing problems.

I'd had my dog about a month when I planted a row of potatoes. Then I wanted to talk to my mother and it was getting late so I called while out in the garden.
Ruger walked up with a potato which I must have dropped and proceeded to eat it. Then he came up with another, and a third one; I really did need to pay more attention and stop dropping them. The next day I saw where he had dug up a 5 foot strip in the row,
That summer I couldn't figure out why my tomatoes would start to ripen yet I never got any. Then one day I saw him go out and eat three, one right after another... My hens were laying eggs on the floor of the coop and when they stopped I assumed that it was because of the heat... then one day I watched my dog go in, grab an egg, go outside to eat it then go get another.

I can't blame him though, when I got him he'd spent the first year of his life on a chain and had to forage for his food; he weighed 63 lbs and you could see every rib on his body, feel every bone in his spine while running your hand down his back. Heck, I had to teach him how to be a dog, all that he knew was that stinking rope.

My stepdad told me this several years back after I had planted two long rows of sweet corn.

I may try that if I ever grow corn again. What variety do you plant? I never had much luck other than Seneca but that was in Sequim on the water, about 10 degrees cooler than Kitsap.

Silver Queen is our favorite. Wife says we have had success with Peaches and Cream but everyone seems to like the Silver Queen and with the last few warm summers we have had a little bounty each year. Enough to freeze plenty for winter time enjoyment.
