How do you store your outside generator?

/ How do you store your outside generator? #41
At my age and even before, the one thing I don't ever want to do is fiddle with a generator, especially in bad weather. Mine are 100% hands off, turn key and that is the way I like it. Having said that, I would cringe at purchasing them in today's inflated economy. I had everything installed by certified electricians. I set them and hooked up the fuel supplies but that was it.

One thing I learned long ago and that is... electricity kills, instantly.

On utility drop out, the big one assumes the full load in a minute and a half and the little one in 45 seconds and transfer back to utility power is instantaneous.

Don't mind fooling with plumbing because if it leaks you get wet. With electricity, if it leaks, you get dead.

Enclosures are basically soundproof so I rarely hear them running or exercising. In fact I had the electricians install a set of telltale lights on the side of the shop so I could make sure the big unit was running.

When the utility fails out here it's usually days before power gets restored and the whole road is black except for us. Think the longest we went without power was 7 straight days.

I keep ours in the mud room of our walk out basement.

11kw, plug into the house (running outside of course) and let it go.

I'd like a stand alone but in 11 years, never had an outage that lasted more than 18 hours.

Hard to justify the cost
