How do you remove a plastic handle?

I have a CK25HST and the shroud surrounding the 3-pt height adjustment lever broke where the little stop adjustment was. I ordered the shroud and I am ready to replace it but the problem is that the plastic handle on the lever needs to be removed. It appears to have been pressed on while hot. How do you remove this handle?

You should be able to just pull it up and off.

It pulls off, but you may need to break the vacuum under it as it pulls off. Either work a thin screwdriver or similar up along one side to allow air in as it comes up or drill a pin hole in the top so air can enter.
