How do you determine manufacture date?

I recently purcased a used 2552. The owner said he thougt it was a 2000 model - but he was not sure. It only had 105 hours. Is there a way to determine when it was manufactured?. I am just curious. I noted a post about kioti's from the 90's having blue paint. The guy I got mine from had another kioti (he said was also a 2000 but it looked rough) that was blue - a 3052. Mine is gray.

If the SN# is a 9 digit (i.e XXXX-XXXXX) then the first digit in the SN# is the last digit in the year.

Example: SN# 5XXX-XXXX would be a 1995

They did this system from 1994 though 2003. If it is before 1994 then you would have to get ahold of Kioti for more infomation.

In 2004 they started SN# with the letter D

Example: DXXX-XXXXX would be a 2004
Example: EXXX-XXXXX would be a 2005 and so on....
