How do I clean this up?

I'd get a county or state forester to cruise the 10 acres and make recommendations on which trees to take and which to leave. In most states there is no cost, but I'd ask first. A tree getter or the chain and a 20" wheel will pull the little stuff out by the roots.

Maybe there's a little enviromentalist in me. Not.. But think about the years ahead. Some of the big trees will die. We went around our place before the first mow and and put little flags on some of the saplings that we wanted to spare. Mainly hardwoods but some pines as well. In just 4 years those saplings are looking good. And we have lost several big trees to disease, lightning, wind, and unknown causes. Just my nickel's worth. Your place looks real nice.
