how do I bring up old posts?

I'm doing research trying to 'plow' through the great info in some older posts. When coming across links in old posts, they do not work but lead to the forum home page. I've tried to cut out the post number and forum id, but still can't get to the linked page. Any ideas how to overcome this?

below is a page w/ a link in it. The link in question is post #34.

I find it best to use the advanced search feature

I've had the same experience you describe but the link you gave above actually worked just fine for me this evening. The smilies often don't work on older posts too. I don't know the answer to your question but I'll be watching for advice too.
