Brought home a 1969 MF 135 yesterday from a guy that wanted to finish remodeling his kitchen more than he wanted the tractor. Diesel, dual clutch, power steering, but no locking differential. It only had 2819 hours on it when the previous owner decided to go through it. He rebuilt the engine including new sleeves, pistons, valves and headwork, turning the crank etc. Had the injector pump rebuilt along with the starter, alternator and radiator. He replaced the entire wiring loom, all the guages, a couple of seals, power steering hoses, battery, belt and hoses and completely new clutch assembly. He also had a service manual and the original operators manual. The Bush Hog brand 5' shredder didn't even have the paint rubbed off the blades yet so it is basically brand new.

I paid $4200 for the tractor and $850 for the shredder. The tractor was on the higher end of several 135's I was considering but knowing it was mechanically fresh convinced me to go with it. Most I found had been repainted and looked better, but not much in the way of mechanical reconditioning.

When I do get around to repainting it, i will replace the fenders with flat tops that have lighting.

Congratulations ! This is almost a new machine. I traded in my 135 last June with over 10000 hours on it and still going strong. So you have a long future in front of you.

You did very well on your purchase. I had a 135 diesel for many years. I think they are the best mowing tractor that was ever made. Are you sure it doesn't have a differential lock? I thought that standard on the 135's.

It is great to hear positive feedback. I was a little afraid that I'd paid too much. Whistlepig...the manual shows the diff. lock as a pedal at the rear of the right floor board which I don't have. However, 95% of the use of this machine will be with a shredder and box blade on level, well draining land so I'm hoping I'll never miss it.

To tell you the truth I never had to use my differential lock. You will love this tractor. I miss mine.

Congratulations! Nice choice. Sounds like a solid machine with all the work that has been done on it. Would you consider selling me those fenders that are on it now when you replace them? Thanks, TB

Nice looking 135. Congrats. You got a good deal considering the cost of all the repairs the seller did on that tractor.

In Jul06 I paid $3600 for a 1964 MF-135 diesel with multipower. It was a lot more beat up than yours. Mine had 4600 hours on it when I bought it. The engine was rebuilt at 3000 hours or so because the front main bearing was shot. I'll probably be doing a clutch job on my 135 soon since the pto shift is acting funny.

I've had two MF 35s, wonderful machines, one with a loader, one without, neither had a differential lock.
