I was discussing fastenal's pre-hire test that goes to all applicants with the fastenal store manager.I was thinking about getting a weekend job, so filled out an application at HD. They require a multiple choice questionaire, with the responses of previous questions prompting tbe next.
I got to a question about my current fellow employees which had no right answer, or "none of the above."
Since I wasn't about to say that all of my coworkers are lazy blood drinking leeches who would stab you in the back with no provocation, I couldn't finish the application.
It's pretty much a personality test. 99% of the questions really won't effect you being hired.
The automatic fail question is "Have you ever considered stealing something"
The correct answer is "Yes, but i chose to do the right thing and not steal"
If you answer "No" you will not be hired by them.
If you answer "yes, I've stolen something" then you won't be hired either.
