Even if theoretically possible, how likely do you believe it is that such a situation will be accepted by the public?

It could just as easily be flown into the ground by a computer glitch or someone on the ground intentionally messing with the system.

Airliners already are flown mostly by programmed route instructions rather than a pilot 'driver'.

One example where this went wrong was a few years ago in San Francisco when a JAL plane landed too low, the tail struck the ground and the plane cartwheeled.

All because the airport's automated glide path system was offline for repairs and the Japanese pilots took for granted there would still be something controlling their descent - but there wasn't.

AI was invented to condition humans for the future. They aren`t doing this for good reason`s, even though THEY, want YOU, to believe it is a good thing, its not! Its all about mind control, and guess what, the future for humanity, is F`ed! AI will make sure that your led in the direction they want you to go (because YOU, can`t think for yourself, you`ll look for AI to do YOUR thinking, for, you). ...

I'm not quite that pessimistic but here's a portrayal of what you said, worst-case. An anticipation of Zuckerberg/Facebook's META, an online environment where everyone lives and interacts, in place of living in nature.
