How could Artificial Intelligence become dangerous?

I doubt many nurses would complain. Every one I've ever met hates their jobs, primarily because health care institutions treat them like crap.

Now if they could just get "AI" to clean up vomit....

Mom and daughter, both RNs. Mom retired a long time ago. Daughter is in L&D.

Neither hated their job. They didn't like certain aspects. In mom's case, they worked 12s and had to flip back and forth, days to nights, sometimes in the same week.

Daughter didn't like working Med-Surg and has a co-worker she doesn't prefer. In general, she loves her job, though. Lots of flexibility, OT opportunities and money. A few doctors are jack wagons, but that's just work. There's always idjits.

I'm at that age when I am beginning to meet an occasional surgeon. They certainly aren't the most personable people to meet.
Yet I'm not asking them to join me on a fishing excursion.

Generally, my wife has very much enjoyed most of the Dr.s she's worked with/for. It's the nursing management and the corporations she's worked for that made life miserable.

Maybe not dangerous... But an article today spoke of California having the highest unemployment in the US, mainly driven by job losses due to AI.

The train has left the station, and I suspect it will only gain speed

My back surgeon is a local guy, grew up here in town, in his mid 40s, pretty personable. He'd make good son-in-law. (that's how I rank people... on the in-law scale )

I`ve said it for MANY decades, that technology will kill humanity one day due to the evil that will have control of it. And here we are.

I`m happy to know that i have lived in the best of times of humanity..... I`m happy to know that i won`t see the destruction in the end.

No doubt. It's not an indictment of all doctors. I'll have to remember the in-law scale!

When kids were in MS, another parent was/is a podiatrist. We coached together and years later I sought treatment from him. (He played FB and graduated from Cornell for UG and MD). I'd definitely hang with him again. If only my son and his daughter were into each other that way. He's got twins my son's age boy and a girl. Heck, I'd be OK with his son as a SIL for my younger daughter. Good people.

Did anyone see that article today where a firm developing an AI product discovered that the AI had willfully and maliciously deleted everything. And seemed proud of its ability to do it.
