How or what is involved in changing all the hydraulic fluid in the MX 5100HST.

I am not familiar with your tractor but it shouldn't be any different from any other. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil, unscrew the filter and install new one, put back the drain plug and refill with fluid.

Look at your manual to see the capacity of the hydraulic reservoir and make sure your catch pan has sufficient quantity to hold all the oil.

Make sure you remove all the drain plugs - there may be 2 or 3.
Like Gary said, make sure your drain tub is big enough to hold all the oil - no fun overflowing the tub.
I have a Rubbermaid clothes storage bin with a snap on lid that I used to do mine.

Pretty easy, you just need to figure out which plugs to remove (there may be multiple). Also may be two filters.

Like others, I don't have an MX5100, but similar tractor. Be sure to check your filters for magnets when you take them off, some have them and some don't, some need to be reused and some new filters come with them.

You might check with bigbull338 as he did one on his before trading for an M7040.

Don't forget the 2 rear plugs on the low points of the final drive cases on the rear axle.. If you are at the 400 hour point and are changing the fluid, I assume you will be changing the front axle fluid also. If you have any questions you can call me. If this is just your 50 hour, Kubota does not require changing the fluid, just both the hydraulic filter and the HST filter. I can help you with suggestions on that also.

Dollar general has cheap 62 quart totes. You just need to have something that will clear underneath the tractor yet hold it all.. also dont forget it will be very heavy to move once it is full.
