It all comes down to spending time or money. You have the equipment to do it, given enough time. If you want it done soon then hire someone with a bull dozier.

I had 5 acres bush-hogged(FECON head) last year and had them leave the smaller trees for fire wood.
This winter we cut the trees and this spring will rent/hire a mini-ex to remove the stumps. This area is going to be a food plot/pasture so the stumps have to go.

I would call in an air strike. Napalm should clear them out

Been very wet here, but it dried up enough in one area to give the box blade scarifiers...one only...a try. Did not work at all. The grapple would do it but the stumps so close together it is going to make me dig the whole area up. Basically upend the whole area.20180405_155240.jpg20180405_154831.jpg

I was worried that there were too many too close together for a subsoiler/scarifier.

I still would just break out either a mini-ex with a thumb or preferably, a big self propelled stump grinder.

An excavator will do a better job with less mess, plus he can leave a lot more soil on site. It also can bury the stumps upside down if he so desires. I had two acres cleared, it took him 2 days to clear and pile it with stumps from 2" all of the way up to 10". The guy knew what he was doing and raked it to get the rocks as well as the roots. I expected him to miss some of the smaller stumps but was able to start disking it the next year.

Next time try a powered pole saw. I saw some forest workers thinning trees and it looked like they were using small chain saws with a very long bar.

They aren't cheap though.

Thinking a subsoiler would have more meat to the tool than this box blade. Plus more depth to get under the roots better. I agree a trackhoe would be best, just not sure I want to crack for the money, but also not completely convince the subsoiler would work the way that video showed.

Maybe some like that, but all the stumps I saw later in the same National Forest were cut at about 45 degrees.
