Here is a good video showing what I meant. It even shows the feedback linkage on the tongue of the trailer. On a triaxle, the rear and front axle are steerable to help maneuvering and reducing drag.

Good video and more potatoes. I like it.

Great video. Been kicking around buying a single row potato harvester from Titan. We hand dig them now and we grow more and more every year and it's getting harder and harder to dig them, the older I get. Excellent potato ground here.

They show out of stock. Guess I’ll get the potato fork out again.

Here is a "home built" trailer that will carry a semi-load has four axles of which I believe two steer and dumps quickly.

Man-o-man, that trailer is a BEAST! I'd like to have seen its frame and steering components. Those tires might be 5ft tall?

George Saunders loading and carting square bales while testing the new NH T5 Dynamic Command. Also a great shot of the pick up hitch/drawbar right in the beginning.

Your old buddy Hay Dude loading square bales today with my 140HP Challenger & amazingly smooth, fast & powerful Quicke Q66 loader!

Exactly -work with her and do not try to overcome her which is what a lot of farmers do because that is what has been taught. Does Mother Nature ever disrupt the entire soil structure? Does Mother Nature ever leave a bare dirt surface? Does Mother Nature ever have a monoculture?

So true my friend.
I see some farmers spray everytime a problem arises.
It’s not all their fault. Customers want crops & hay that looks like it‘s made out of plastic.
But it’s all going into our bodies.

My issue is, I'll have to buy a small tractor to use it. Maybe a used BX or something.
Here is a common small potato operation from start to finish here in Portugal. For their own use and maybe a little bit to sell at the local markets or just give away to neighbors and friends. Don't mind the Portuguese talking, not really relevant for the video.

That is about the size of our potato beds so digging them by hand is always a chore. We don't have any rocks however, it's all black sandy loam here.

I plant a bit differently (love to have a planter like that as well). I take the hiller/furrower attachment on the back end of the rear tine tiller and cut a pretty deep furrow (8" deep or so) and then place the seed potatoes in by hand. Any spuds that are left over from the year go back in the ground the next year (after slicing with eyes and drying off) to prevent rot. Wife comes along behind me and covers the seed potatoes with a light cover of soil and after they sprout I'll hoe in the furrow as they grow.

I let them go term other than grabbing a few new potatoes for dinners. I'll let the vines turn brown before we dig them.

Really need a single row digger, maybe next year.

This year is going to be a whopper crop. All our friends are waiting for them (they get to help dig for spuds). Certainly better than store bought.

We will dig them and lay them out on tables in the barn covered with newspapers and let them 'set up'. before putting them in mesh sacks.
